Located 90 miles northwest of Chetumal, Majahual is the heart of the Costa Maya, the newest tourist destination in Mexico. It is a traditional fishing village with unpaved sandy streets and a few rustic seafood restaurants.
As the Caribbean's newest cruise ship destination, Majahual is now home to a new cruise ship dock and mall. A new power station and water plant were recently completed, and new roads and electrical lines are now being installed.
Because of its tropical location, Majahual's crystalline waters are always warm. Here divers can discover countless beautiful coral formations, sponges, sea turtles, dolphins, sea horses, manatees, and thousands of sport and reef fish.
