Playa del Carmen

Located 42 miles south of Cancun, Playa del Carmen is one of the most fun towns in the Caribbean. And with a population of roughly 50,000 inhabitants in 2003 and around 135,500 in 2005, this is undoubtedly the fastest growing town in the Mayan Riviera.

Playa, as it is known by the locals, also has the ferry to Cozumel running numerous trips daily, and a central bus terminal for connections to other parts of Mexico.
